Upgrading Fedora with yum

I relied on Brandon Hutchinson's instructions. Here is what works for me.

Upgrading FC6 to FC7

  • rpm -Uvh source/fedora-release-7-3.noarch.rpm
  • rpm -Uvh source/fedora-release-notes-7.0.0-1.noarch.rpm
  • yum upgrade

In my case, the source was http://mirror.cc.vt.edu/pub/fedora/linux/releases/7/Fedora/i386/os/Fedora/
